Catherine Perry, Humanities Without Walls Research Collaborator (Co-PI), University of Notre Dame. Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame, former President of the Conseil International d’Études Francophones, former Editor in Chief of the refereed journal Nouvelles Études Francophones, and Chevalier in the French national order “Ordre des palmes académiques,” Catherine Perry works on French and Francophone literatures and cultures from the 19th century to the present. Her interests include intellectual history, gender studies, representations of North Africa in European literature and painting, and francophone literatures from the Maghreb, as well as global contemporary French and Francophone cinema. She has published on writers from France, Canada, and the Maghreb, focusing recently on human rights and social justice.
